As a young kid I was captivated by the Star Wars movies. I wished nothing more than to be the one to invent every space ship, blaster, and comms device I saw and continually told people that I wanted to be an inventor when I grew up. A wise man then told me that to fulfill that dream I should become a mechanical engineer.
I have since found a passion for the creative process involved in all facets of design and find my work incredibly fulfilling. I am currently a manager of a mechanical engineering team at Intuitive working on the next generation da Vinci surgical robotic system and hold several patents.
I incorporate the learnings I have cultivated as an engineer and manager as well as the vicarious wisdom gained through reading the the absolute best of thought leaders from various fields into the articles I write. Engineering and product development principles have a powerful effect when applied in one’s personal life and whether you are an engineer, artist, scientist, or athlete you can benefit from the principles found here.
